2005 Niepoort Redoma Douro White – Beautiful straw in color. Peach and wet slate on the nose. Good acidity and balance. Well-integrated tropical notes on the palate. Great complexity and texture on the palate – reminds me of an old Meursault. Great longevity – still going strong after all these years. 94 points. 7/15/2020
2001 Quinta do Roriz Douro Reserva – Nose of lingonberry, meaty notes, and red fruits. Sour cherry dusty red fruits on the palate. A subtle hint of mint on the palate as well. 93 points. 7/15/2020
1945 Croft Vintage Port – There was significant sediment, but after decanting, it presented totally clear but surprisingly ruby in color for a Port this old. Pink on the meniscus. Beautiful strawberry and red fruit on the nose. Some spirit and heat on the approach, with notes of vanilla extract underneath the cinnamon and clove. Amazing sharp acidity and beautifully long finish. 97 points. 7/15/2020
